Oracle OLAP is embedded within the Oracle Database. It benefits, like no other multidimensional technology, from the Oracle Database's scalability, performance and security. Oracle +OLAP is truly Enterprise Ready.
Oracle +OLAP can be used with many user centric reporting tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Applications Express (APEX), Business Objects, and can integrate directly with Microsoft Office through the use of myObjectiveOLAP.

The close integration between the Oracle relational database and Oracle OLAP allows the processing and storage of detailed transactions to be linked to the summary OLAP reporting of the data. Sales invoices can be validated and enriched before being summarised and posted to the ledgers. The summary data is then available for slice and dice reporting from OLAP, and can be traced and drilled back to the original source trasactions. All this happens within one Oracle environment.
OLAP cubes provide flexible data storage for financial data, allowing drill and slice & dice reporting.
Users can use the reporting tool within myObjectiveOLAP or use Microsoft Excel to view and manipulate data.
SDMC have built a comprehensive management reporting system, linked to the SAP ledger. The system also acts as an accounting hub to process sales invoices into the ledger. The hub manages data validation, deferred income calculations, journal creation into SAP, manual adjustments, and a detailed audit trail. SDMC have used the close integration between the Oracle relational database and Oracle OLAP to store and process the data efficiently and enable advanced analytics.
The management reporting system is linked to the Oracle General Ledger to provide nightly updated financial reporting for all of Tesco's businesses in the UK.
Budgets and forecasts are prepared directly within the system and uploaded directly from within Excel. These forecasts are regularly fed back to the GL. Several innovative techniques have been applied by SDMC to streamline the General Ledger interface.
SDMC consultants participated as lead consultants implementing a comprehensive system for the bank. This system provided financial budgeting and forecasting. Enhanced financial management information, project reporting and product costing. Specific functionality included payroll modelling, capital expenditure cost modelling, premises cost modelling, spreadsheet data capture, interface to SAP and payroll systems, activity based cost allocations for product costing.
SDMC worked with The House Worldwide to produce, host and support an innovative collaboration system, including email, calendar, and document management.
This enabled The House Worldwide to effectively communicate both internally and with their clients.
SDMC manage the hosting and support of this mission critical infrastructure.
SDMC consultants worked with the Co-operative Bank to build a five year strategic planning system and financial budgeting and forecasting system. These integrated with existing management information systems.
Enhancements have included the addition of employee based budgeting and forecasting of staff costs, consolidation of reporting and budgeting within the Group and the implementation of process improvement tools such as drill to Oracle General Ledger transactions.
SDMC consultants implemented an Oracle based management reporting and forecasting solution enabling OLAP cubes to interrogate Oracle E-Business General Ledger data, providing financial reporting of actuals, budgets and forecast. Drill to transactions in the Oracle General Ledger was provided using SDMC’s own drill tool. The project was delivered on time as part of a fixed price contract.
Working with partners as part of a larger multidiscipline team implementing a shared service ERP programme, SDMC implemented an Oracle based business intelligence solution and provided project management.
The system provided financial analysis supporting all aspects of local authority finances to a number of separate organisations.
